Brain Diagnosis

The Brain Diagnosis product is a digital solution for monitoring and evaluating cognitive performance. The target population of Brain Diagnosis focuses on people who have not been diagnosed with a cognitive deficit and who are looking for a better way to identify some cognitive changes over time.

Brain Diagnosis results from the combination of several ICT technologies (Information, Communication and Electronics Technologies) that allow the digitization of the classic process, usually carried out using paper instruments. These technologies allow performing a set of cognitive exercises, specific and based on scientific evidence, in a clinical environment or even at home. The main features of Brain Diagnosis include serious games, quizzes, secondary indicators collected by sensors (e.g. cameras, movement, electrophysiological, among others).

This product is classified as a medical device, due to its characteristics and intended use. For that reason, it is being developed taking into account the requirements in force for MDR (medical device regulation) at European level.

At SmartHealth4All, the partners involved in Brain Diagnosis have been developing this product from a technological point of view, along with questions about its verification and validation, including the adaptation of organizational processes aimed at quality management.

In the long term, this product could benefit the target population, which could exceed 10 million people in the European Union by 2035.
